Growing up I always heard, “Use your talents in what you do, and you’ll be able to walk down the street with your arms swinging.”
This joy of service that comes with finding your strengths and using them escaped me. It seemed there were blocks that prevented me from accessing them professionally. In the following chapters, I share writing exercises and tools that I used to get past blockages and tune into my purpose and joy.
The title was inspired by the poet Rainer Maria Rilke’s poem. I had many questions and was so focused on seeking answers, I couldn’t enjoy the moment. I learned that by writing down the questions (along with other important tools), I stopped “seeking” so hard. I relaxed and was available to the answers when they appeared.
Part I is a series of journaling activities along with some tools that helped me connect to a deeper calling and more joy.
You are doing some digging in answering these questions, but you are also consciously manifesting a creative life connected to your heart’s journey. You are writing to co-create with the universe.
Part II is where you ask the questions you have about your life. By formulating the questions and writing them down, life will reveal the answers and you can be more present to live them.
