Communicate with Language of Energy
I’m sitting right now next to a man in a coffee shop at one of those long tables.
This is the same man who two weeks ago, gave me an irritated “harrumph” when I went to sit down next to him. He said nothing, but his body language and intention screamed, “Get out of here.”
At that time, I blurted out a response to what I was getting in energy, “OK—I won’t sit here,” picked up my books, moved to a different table and got to work.
Today, there was no other place to go but that same coffee shop and that same table. When I sat down, that same man was there but his time he smiled and said, “please, have a seat.” A 100 times nicer.
Is it possible that calling people on their energy can wake people up, make them more aware and kind?
My training for communicating in energy began as an actor (and as a child in a chaotic home before that). I learned how to “feel the room” so you know how people are reacting.
In theater, you feel the response of the audience towards the story you are telling. You sense the intentions of other actors. As long as other actors give you an emotion, or shut you out energetically as a part of the story, you have something to react to.
Communicate in Energy
In every day life, I ignored this ability to communicate in energy. One person in my life diminished me for years, but I ignored the way she made me feel in her company. I mean, she couldn’t be that bad in energy, could she? Proof came when she left this life, and I felt freer and more empowered.
We don’t have to wait for someone to die.
Now I can perceive in the tone of voice, the energy behind an email. Everything is energy.
How to Read Energy
Open the senses. Feel the energy of your own voice and body and then expand it to feel others’ energy. It came take time and experimenting. I don’t mean to invade someone’s space here (very important!), just to be able to sense it. Sometimes you may need to get help with this if you have blocks in front of your heart or habits which get in the way of sensing. Some of these habits include negative self talk, doubt, walls that you built up to protect yourself.
Next, observe your space and body. Do you feel tension some place in your body? Is there any emotion that is coming to you for no reason? Most likely it’s not yours. Is there a lightness or a heaviness around certain people?
I used to be very vulnerable to people who wanted something from me. Because I wanted approval, this allowed them a way into my energy. I usually left their company exhausted and angry that I gave up my own “real estate” to someone else.
The next step in feeling in energy is not owning it or personalizing it. The way to do this is to expand beyond their intentions, emotions into neutral giving. From this vantage point, we can let it register, and then we can just let it pass through us and/or flood this person or energy with unconditional love. This way, we don’t need to hold onto anything negative.
Benefits or Communicating in Energy
Reading in energy can save us a lot of pain or time and help us find people we want to work with. When we know people’s intentions, (do they want something from us, are they dumping on us?) we can react in a way that protects our own energy and helps them. We can call them on their stuff, too.
I learned to spend time with people who are not dumping on me, but are trying to live their passions, not siphoning off my own energy to make themselves feel good.
So if you are sensitive person, chances are you are already communicating in energy.
I help others become more attuned to this energy and to their hearts in order to improve their communication, teaching and leadership skills. If this interests you, see more of my posts below, and let me know if this was helpful to you.
