I read Henriette Klauser’s book again, Write It Down, Make It Happen, a wonderful blend of personal stories and tools. Each chapter has easy tips you can practice in a short time.
Here is an old favorite that I worked with again:
When you write down something you want to manifest in your life, write down why you want that. What is the outcome of that outcome? And what is the outcome of that outcome? Use the words, “because of that…”
I tried this with a car. I have a good car, but it’s getting old, and when I drive long distances it is uncomfortable. Here’s what happened the first time.
“I want a comfortable stylish car.
and because of that, my back will be healthy,
and because of that, I’ll feel healthier and stronger
and because of that, I’ll be able to play tennis and take dance classes.”
After doing this exercise, I realized I didn’t necessarily want a car just to have a car, but I wanted to be more active in my life. That is something I could do right away. I didn’t have to wait.
When I did this again it turned out another quality appeared that I could immediately imagine for myself:
“I want a stylish car,
and because of that, I’ll feel more stylish,
and because of that I’ll feel less self-conscious and more confident,
and because of that I’ll be more assertive in the world with my actions.
So what I really wanted behind wanting the car, was to be more assertive in the world. I could do that and it wouldn’t cost a thing. Perhaps it would help me manifest the car later.
This writing exercise helps me prioritize what I want. I don’t focus on the thing or not having the thing, but on the feeling or the quality. The quality is within my reach now.
Now I can pursue my goals while tapping into the motivations underneath the goals.
When we tap into the motivations deep within, we are more likely to get what we want because we are attuned with the energetic force behind wanting. And then we can begin to accept that state into our lives.
Let me know in writing what you want and add a couple of “because of thats.”
